WACO, Texas鈥擠ecember 17, 2020鈥, the world鈥檚 largest franchisor of home service brands, has been named to Inc.鈥檚 inaugural Best in Business list in the Enduring Impact category. 鈥淥ur franchise owners and their employees are consistently raising the bar in terms of their dedication to serve their communities, and given we are in the midst of a global pandemic, I couldn鈥檛 be prouder to see our organization rewarded with this silver medal for the Enduring Impact Award from Inc.,鈥 said Mike Bidwell, CEO and president of Neighborly. 鈥淲e鈥檝e gone above and beyond this year to prioritize the safety of our teams and customers while still fulfilling homeowners鈥 essential services needs through our family of brands, and receiving this award confirms that the work has been and will continue to be worth it.鈥
Inc. is known for its annual list of the 5000 fastest-growing companies, but the new Best in Business Awards strive to recognize a different kind of success. Instead of rewarding quantitative gains in sales, Inc.’s editors reviewed the companies’ achievements over the past year and noted how they made a positive difference in the world. They then selected honorees in more than 30 different industries鈥攈ealth, software, retail, business services, and more. With about 2,700 entries, competition for the Best in Business awards was high, making Neighborly鈥檚 ranking that much more meaningful.
“It’s been an incredibly challenging year for companies,鈥 said Scott Omelainuk, editor-in-chief of Inc. 鈥淎cross industries, businesses have had to make brutally tough decisions and face unprecedented uncertainty. That’s why we knew 2020 called for a new recognition program, something to complement our annual Inc. 5000 list of the fastest-growing private companies in the country. For Best in Business, companies have prioritized tackling today鈥檚 problems to lead us to a better future, even if they鈥檝e struggled to stay in the black.”
