Infrastructure bill
On August 21, the U.S. Senate passed a bipartisan infrastructure bill that calls for $550 billion in spending over five years. This money would be invested in broadband internet as well as roads, bridges, railways, and airports. The investment in transportation will be important to maintaining the supply chain for the cleaning industry. The bill now heads to the House which plans to vote on it by the end of September.
Booster shots
Pending FDA approval, frontline workers who received early doses of the COVID-19 vaccine will be eligible for a booster shot of the same vaccine as early as late September. ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ continues to urge policy makers to give the frontline cleaning industry priority access to vaccines in order to protect workers.
Advisory committee members
ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ recently announced two new members to its Government Affairs Advisory Committee. Ryan S. Bowley from SJ Johnson Professional and Keith Schneringer from WAXIE Sanitary Supply, an Envoy Solutions company, joined the GAAC in August. The GAAC is an important part of ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½â€™s ongoing advocacy efforts on behalf of the cleaning industry.
